Generating Electricity through harnessing the Sun’s radiation is perhaps the most promising and effective technologies in the Solar Energy arena. Also called Solar Phtovoltaics or Solar PV, this technology uses the suns energy to produce electricity for immediate or later use.
How does it work?
The concept is simple: The sun’s energy is harnessed through solar panels to produce DC power which is used to charge the batteries. An inverter converts the DC power from the batteries into AC power that can be used by the customer or exported to the grid to make money. Power from the grid can also be used to charge the batteries at night.

Many countries in the world, including Canada, have Feed-In-Tariff programs in place. Under the program the local Utility buys electricity produced from Solar Power systems at an attractive rate. In such systems there is no need for a battery backup and all power produced is sold to the Grid.

In a Net-Metering solution electricity produced from the Solar Power system is used by the customers. However any excess capacity is transferred to the Grid. The electricity meter is adjusted for the two way flow of power and the customer only pays for the difference between total consumption and total export.
For locations where electricity from the Grid is available but is not reliable or is too expensive an On-Grid solution provides uninterrupted power even during blackouts. It also reduces your electricity bill by making Solar the primary source of power. The batteries are charged through Solar or Grid.
Off-Grid solutions are used where power from the Grid is not available. In a SolarGrid Off-Grid solution the batteries can be charged through the solar panels and also optionally through a generator. The Inverter converts the DC power of the batteries into AC power which is made available for use 24 hours a day.
What can you run on an Off-grid or On-grid Solution?
SolarGrid solutions are versatile and scalable. our Off-Grid and On-Grid Solutions are sized according to the customer requirements. In case of a grid failure the system automatically switches to backup power and you can run the loads from 2 hours to more than 48 hours depending upon the battery bank size.
